Scarpa's Piki kids climbing shoe is a great shoe for beginners. 

The Piki has a velcro closure, suede upper and a comfortable neoprene lining. The yellow band around the back of the heel can stretch to allow the shoes to span two European sizes. These climbing shoes have a flat last and a normal to wide fit and are made in Romania.
